How do I speed up a video for free?
Open the video in Cutmallow's free editor, select the clip on the timeline and tap Speed. Pick any of nine speeds from 0.25x to 4x; the sound speeds up with the picture but keeps its pitch, so voices don't turn into chipmunks. Each clip can have its own speed. Then export an MP4 with no watermark. Nothing is uploaded.

How to do it in three steps
Drop your video into the editor.
Select the clip on the timeline and tap Speed.
Pick a speed from 0.25x to 4x, then export.
Then keep going in the same place: add captions, zooms and a style, so the Short is finished before you leave the page.
How it works
Speed is an edit, not a re-recording: the editor plays each frame for a shorter or longer time and renders the result when you export. The sound is time-stretched so its pitch stays where it was.
Because every clip on the timeline has its own speed, you can split a video at the boring part, speed just that part up, and leave the rest at normal speed.
Tips for a better result
- Use 1.25x or 1.5x to tighten a talking-head video without it sounding rushed.
- Split around the part you want to change so the rest stays at normal speed.
- For slow motion, footage shot at 60 fps looks smoother at 0.5x.
One flow instead of three apps
Every free tool here opens the same Cutmallow editor, so the whole Short gets finished in one place.
- Pauses, noise and captions in one editor, instead of a different app for each job.
- Private: the video is processed on your device and never uploaded.
- Works on phones as well as laptops, in the browser you already have.
- No credits, no usage limits, no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

Will my voice sound like a chipmunk?
No. The sound keeps its pitch when the speed changes, so speech stays natural at 1.25x or 1.5x.
Can I speed up only part of a video?
Yes. Split the clip on the timeline, select the part you want and change its speed. The other parts keep theirs.
How long can my video be?
Up to 15 minutes. Most Shorts and Reels are well under that, so you can drop a whole take and keep the best part.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in Safari on iPhone and in Chrome on Android, as well as Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on computers. An older phone takes longer, because your own device does the work.
Is there a watermark or a paid plan for this?
No. The export is clean, in full quality, with no account. Cutmallow runs on your device, so there are no server bills to pass on.
